Announcing the 2020 Elissa I. Henry Law Future First Generation Lawyer Scholarship

It is for underrepresented individuals pursuing a legal career who will be the first in their families to attend law school. I want to do it because I was the first in my family to attend law school and that inherently comes with some disadvantageous. The scholarship is one small step to evening the playing field.

The submission deadline is December 1, 2020.

The scholarship will be provided to one student who is enrolled at either a community college or University. The scholarship will be offered for the spring semester (January)

  • How To Apply

    Community involvement is very important to us at Elissa I. Henry Law. In everything we do, from fighting for the injured to events and charities that help our neighbors, we are determined to help our community any way we can.
    With that being said, we would like you to write an essay of 1,000 words or less on the following topic:
    How would you use your law degree to help the community in which you live?
  • Selection Process

    Submission deadline is December 1, 2020.

Application Guidelines

  • Student must be enrolled as a full-time college student and
    completed 30 credit hours.
  • Submit academic transcript and
    enrollment verification.
  • Winner must provide tax records indicating parent(s) or guardian make less than $50,000 a year.

Bonus Points

Students who give us a social-media shoutout about the scholarship will be credited with one bonus point per social-media channel. This is not a requirement and students without Social Media Access will still be considered. Multiple shoutouts within the same Social Media channel are appreciated but will not result in additional points. We will not credit points for channels on which we are not active.
